Guided Hiking

Summer (Yellowstone/Grand Teton)

Sit back and let someone else do the driving! Private or group-narrated sightseeing tours of Yellowstone National Park are available daily. These comfortable, intimate, and informative tours are a unique way to see Yellowstone. Some companies offer step-on guides for motorcoaches and many offer specialized tours for wildlife, photography, or backcountry excursions.

Snowmobile (National Forests)

West Yellowstone is surrounded by three national forests: Custer Gallatin, Beaverhead-Deerlodge, and Caribou-Targhee. These forests offer scenic vistas; high-mountain meadows, lakes, and rivers; and extensive groomed trail systems. During the winter, authorized guides offer snowmobile trips along trails or to backcountry locations. Avalanche equipment and training is also available.

Snowcoach & Snowmobile (Yellowstone Park)

Snowcoaches (vehicles with tracks or large overinflated tires) and snowmobiles are the only options for motorized travel into Yellowstone’s wintry interior. Snowcoaches, which depart daily, offer expert local guides and a warm, comfortable setting.

Daily tour options travel to Old Faithful or the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone waterfall area. Also available are specialty photography tours and combination snowcoach/ski or snowcoach/snowshoe tours with time to explore trails to thermal features and backcountry areas within Yellowstone Park. Reservations are required, and you can purchase a single seat or reserve a private snowcoach for your family or group.

Want to experience Yellowstone’s winter wonderland another way? Gear up and hop on a guided snowmobile trip. This will put you up close and personal with some winter inhabitants, like bison.

Note: Personal machines and unguided parties are not allowed. Commercially non-guided trips are available through a lottery system, which takes place in September.
