ATV/UTV

The same trail system that made West Yellowstone famous for snowmobiling is available for ATV and UTV use in the summer. Many trails are limited to machines under 50 inches, so make sure to inquire before heading out in your OHV or side-by-side.

Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the trail system is well marked with excellent, maintained trails, and free trail maps are available. Local trail favorites include Two Top Mountain and Lionhead, where scenic vistas overlook Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.

This trail system links into Island Park, Idaho’s extensive trails, including a route along the old railroad bed that passes Big Springs and old cattle stop. ATV rentals are available in West Yellowstone, Montana.

Note: ATV riding is not permitted in Yellowstone National Park.
