All entrances and roads in Yellowstone National Park are closed to regular vehicle traffic except the north entrance road from Gardiner to Cooke City.

Select roads and entrances in Yellowstone, including the west entrance and west entrance road, opened to guided snowcoach and snowmobile tours on December 15. The guided over-the-snow season ends on March 15.

The west entrance to Yellowstone opens to regular vehicle traffic on April 17. 2026 opening dates are posted below.
