Did you know that the so-called American buffalo is, in fact, a bison? Surprising, right? There are only two true buffalo species: the Water Buffalo in Asia and the Cape Buffalo in Africa. The biggest joy of spring in the West Yellowstone, The biggest joy of spring in the West Yellowstone, Montana and Yellowstone National Park area is getting to see baby animals. May is the best month to see bison calves, bear cubs, and elk calves.

There are only two more weeks until the west entra There are only two more weeks until the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park closes for the winter season. March 15 is the last day for guided snowcoach and snowmobile tours. The entrance will reopen to regular vehicles on April 17.
